had a great time at this place. it was lovely and cosy, in a fantastic location within walking distance of anything you could want to do and are in whitby. the flat was presented beautifully and it was spotless. the hosts was very helpful and the communication was brilliant. the host even made us a list of places and things to do and see locally aswell as some recommendations for places to go out for drinks and for food. we had a fantastic time and couldn't ask for more. Would definatly re book if we visit whitby again! thank you so much to the hosts for a wonderful place to spend the weekend.

It's a place that is lovingly cared for, has all the amenities one needs. Now, granted there are some steps, but once in it's VERY WELL WORTH IT!!! THANKS Alex for a super nice peaceful stay!!!!! This was our 2nd stay at Marji's place and wont be our last. The apartment is amazing and the bed is so confortable. 5 mins walk into Whitby town centre where all the shops, pubs and restaurants are. Alex communicates through out the booking process and the place is spotlessly clean. We had a great few days.

Really comfortable, central apartment with lots of lovely personal touches. Kitchen fully stocked with fresh milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits which was really appreciated. The towels and bedding felt plush and the whole place was spotlessly clean. Hosts left lots of recommendations for restaurants, attractions and a guide book with ‘how tos’ for the hob etc. Thanks so much!

We've stayed in a few B'n'Bs and apartments down the years, but Marjie's Place was the closest match to the host's description. It lacked for nothing and included added extras - the "personal touch" - such as a welcome tray with really yummy biscuits for that all-important first cuppa everyone needs after a long journey (yes, a range for all tastes, also supplied, plus milk). (A., we found the biscuits later and bought another pack for our outward journey!) We really couldn't recommend Marjie's Place any higher. It is within easy walking distance of the centre of Whitby, your host provides parking vouchers, and she respond very quickly should you need assistance. Go for it!

Marjorie’s place felt like home as soon as we walked in. There was clear contact days before arrival which made it all stress free once we got there. It had all the equipment and appliances you need if you wanted to cater for yourself but with everything in walking distance there was no need to cook. Fantastic place 100% recommend.

This is a really lovely place to stay. We easily found a parking space within the disc zone (last week in August) and we were then able to leave the car there for our stay as shops, restaurants and the abbey were all within walking distance. The apartment was clean and very well appointed - everything has been thought of, including snacks! I would definitely recommend, and stay again if ever in the area.

We had a few days away in Whitby and stayed at Marjie's Place. It was a spotlessly clean apartment, it was well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was perfect and made it easy to get around Whitby. Communication with Alex was great. We would highly recommend staying here if you are planning on staying in Whitby. It was such a lovely stay! We felt right at home, was very cozy and clean. It was a good plus that she provided a corner with a selection of games and books so when we wanted a night in we could play a game. Alex was very pleasant and responsive also letting us know when Liz dropped off more of the parking permits. Very good area to stay as only a short walk into the town and close to a very good bakery ( Bothams ) which we visited daily! Thank you again :) im sure we will visit again!

A lovely Apartment, with everything you need. Really easy to get everywhere around the Town. Parking was free with a two Day Pass provided by Alex, once I found a spot , as it's first come all over Whitby. Would definitely recommend to Friends and Family and we would definitely return ourselves.

Lovely clean apartment with basic condiments provided, in a perfect location, only a 5 minute walk to the main waterfront. All decor and furniture was clean and the whole apartment smelt fresh. Overall we had a lovely stay, would certainly use Alex’s place again if we were back in the area.

I can't speak more highly of Alex's place. It was spotless, modern, and so, so cosy. Very easy to reach from the train station, and a perfect location for getting around Whitby. As a single traveller, I always felt safe coming and going. The heating was perfect, as was the WIFI (important as I had business meetings on video call), and the bed was super comfy. Alex is very thoughtful, going so far as to have milk in the fridge upon arrival--how sweet is that?! The kitchen is stocked with a few very sweet items to greet guests (no spoilers here!), and as someone who stays at Airbnbs fairly often, this isn't something I ever really see (and definitely don't expect). Alex seems to go out of her way to just provide EVERYTHING and make your stay as easy as possible. She's a gem, this apartment is a gem, and I really hope to be back to Whitby one day to stay here again. Thanks, Alex!

We had a beautiful weeks stay in Marjie's Place and I couldn't recommend it enough. The flat was super clean and so comfortable, with all the right amenities. We stayed in and cooked a few times as the kitchen was well-equipped with everything we could have needed. The location was ideal and parking was always easy to find (even on Easter bank holiday weekend!), the parking permit was a total blessing. The host was really welcoming and replied to any questions instantly! I would happily stay here again 😊

Our third stay at Marjies Place and as always the flat was immaculately clean and tidy. Alex and her mum Liz are always at hand and they kindly left us some lovely cake and biscuit treats. They even gifted us a super bottle of vino for our wedding anniversary. They have covered every want you would need for a stay with a vast array of teas, hot chocolate, coffee, milk and cream in the fridge. The cooking appliances are all simple to use with every cooking and eating utensil at your disposal. The flat is on the third floor on a very popular street, location wise, and within easy walking distance to the shops, bars and beach. Car parking is on the street but the pre paid parking permit they leave is invaluable as it applies to the surrounding streets too. Thank you Alex and Liz for again, making our stay so enjoyable.

Fabulous flat in an excellent location. Communication very good too. It’s a modern, yet very comfortable flat with lovely thoughtful touches. Was difficult to find (arriving in the dark and rain), the number on the door isn’t obvious and no parking space was available on the street. However, did get parked round the corner. Note: one side of the street is named differently to the other, Hudson Street, where the flat is – caused confusion with my sat nav! Over-all, would certainly recommend for a couple. Me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay. Thank you Alex, and for the welcome pack too. 😊

Very clean, tidy, new and functional. The flat is on a nice quiet road with very little traffic in the day and hardly any at night so you wont be disturbed. Alex is very helpful and the sea is just around the corner!

Fantastic stay! We arrived slightly earlier than we expected so we rang Liz and she allowed us in, she had even turned the heating up for us! Marjies Place was located only a 5 minute walk away from the centre. Would definitely recommend the buss tour from the Whitby Abbey. The apparent was clean, comfortable and had everything you need. Good position with an easy downhill 5 minute walk into the main part of town with a not so easy 10 minute walk uphill to get back. The property was very clean and the rental was easy. Please there are two flights of stairs to negotiate so it may be a challenge for some. I am happy to recommend.

The flat is perfect for a couple. The place was really tidy, the kitchen was well equipped and the bed was extremely comfortable, despite being woken up in the morning by the noisy seagulls! Being greeted with scones and a bottle of Prosecco was a nice touch. We even got lucky with the parking space, right outside the flat, though we did get fined for forgetting to write the car registration and address on the parking permit provided. Oops!

We had a great stay in Whitby. The town is beautiful, the flat was very clean and centrally located. Alex and her mum were great and very responsive. We had to go around a few times to find a parking spot, but Whitby was pretty busy to be fair.

Perfect flat for a couple of days away! Lovely and clean, everything you needed. Really good location, not to far from the beach front/ pubs and restaurant approx 5/10 min walk. Nice and quiet. Car parking permit was provided, we were lucky enough to get a space directly outside the flat but if not there is still plenty around that aren’t far away.

Lovely clean and well equipped apartment ideal for the West Cliff area of Whitby. A gorgeous stroll down to the Magpie Cafe which seemed a lot harder coming back up the steps when full of delicious fish and chips. Great communication with the owner, good location, would recommend for a couple for a stay in Whitby.

Great flat in a great location to walk to all the main sights and areas in Whitby. The flat was super clean and had all the facilities and equipment for a very comfortable stay. We had bikes which we could store safely in the locked shed at the back which was a great bonus.

We had a lovely couple of days in Marjies Place. The lounge and bedroom are bigger than they appear in the photos. If you stay here, you have to take advantage of the amazing view of the Abbey from the fire escape. Milk, coffee and biscuits had been provided which was a lovely touch especially after a long drive. Would highly recommend this host and property to anyone looking to visit Whitby and the surrounding area 🙂

Spent a weekend away in Whitby and chose here as it looked like a perfect base for me and my girlfriend to explore Whitby. The location was great with only a short walk to the town centre. The parking was a bit tricky, the disk zone that surrounds the area is incredibly busy and finding a space is just pure luck. When we arrived we were out of luck so decided to park up in a nearby pay and display. We could have probably moved it from there to a spot if we kept our eyes open but we decided not to bother and just paid for two days parking, which isnt actually as much as youd think. As for the flat i think i would say this is one of the most thoughtful places ive stayed in. There was little cards and notes on the wall explaining everything from how you use the tv to how to operate the heating. It was really helpful and just very user friendly. This attitude carried to the amenities too, i was really pleased to open the cupboard to find tea and coffee and even milk in the fridge! Id say this is a really nice example of what to do for people when youre hosting! The flat was like the photos with a nice view of the abbey from the fire escape out back. All in all i would recommend whole heartedly.

Very thoughtfully equipped and impeccably maintained. The flat is well situated close to amenities so we could stroll into Whitby at will. We have learnt that parking will always be an issue at the weekend in Whitby but Alex did everything she could to ease the situation. Marjie’s place is a very comfortable and cosy spot for a break in a perfect location in Whitby, super clean and a very comfy bed! We stayed three nights but could easily stay for a week or more. Easy walking distance to the town for shops, pubs and restaurants and very close to the beach. I’d highly recommend for a stay in Whitby!

he perfect place for a relaxing break in Whitby. Marjie’s place is recently fitted with comfortable, stylish modern furnishings, and up-to-date appliances. We had everything we needed for our stay, and everything was configured for ease of use and simplicity. The host was responsive.

The location was excellent, a short walk from the beach, a short walk from the town centre, and 2 minutes away from cafes and bakeries for lunch. Parking on street & in the public car park were both very convenient. Marjie’s place is on the same road as a blue plaque commemorating the author Elizabeth Gaskell’s visit to Whitby in 1859. Highly exciting!

We had a lovely Christmas time in Marjies Place! The flat has everything one needs (there was even a Christmas tree!), is cosy and well insulated. The location is also great: it is a quiet area, just 3mins from the waterfront and around 8 minutes from Pier Road. Parking wasn’t a problem this time of year (the West Cliff car park is 2 mins away and parking is free until March) but you can also check with Alex regarding parking permits. The communication with Alex was very quick, easy and friendly.
We highly recommend this place and it will be our first choice for our next stay in Whitby.

Our second stay at this super flat perfectly situated in the heart of Whitby. It’s beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, has a very comfy bed and everything else one needs for a perfect stay. Netflex was an added bonus, especially when we couldn’t venture out far, due to Storm Arwen blustering into Whitby. Alex and her mum Liz couldn’t do enough to help our stay more comfortable and were always on hand for help and advice. Thank you both again for making us feel so at home. We will certainly be back x

This place is just what we needed for a few nights away in Whitby! The apartment itself is very well looked after, it’s clean and tidy and smells so fresh! The kitchen has everything we needed and more – I’d actually forgotten to nip to the shop for milk and tea and was pleasantly surprised that these had already been left for us along with two sachets of hot chocolate (you’re a life saver! These were very much needed after a chilly walk!) Also, the bed was super comfy which helped after our long walks. We will definitely be returning to Marjies Place for our next Whitby adventure!

Perfect quiet location but so close to everything by a short 5-10 mins walk. Spotlessly clean and modern. Great to have a dressing table and mirrors to get ready as some places don’t have them, so it’s a nice touch and home from home. Shower is great with lovely fluffy towels. Nice welcome with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits provided. Check in really easy and good communication from Alex. Definitely would stay again. We had a lovely 4 night stay at Marjie’s place and what a great find. The apartment is beautifully furnished, sparkling clean with good cooking amenities, seating and a very comfy bed. The location is ideal, just a 5 to 10 minute walk to the centre of Whitby. There was tea, coffee, milk and biscuits on our arrival which was most appreciated. Communications between Alex and her mum Liz was excellent and I would definitely recommend this super apartment in Whitby. We will certainly be booking again.

The flat is in a perfect location – within walking distance of everything but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Whitby. It is so well equipped with everything we needed and is decorated beautifully. The bed was so comfy! I particularly liked the inclusion of the dressing table with mirrors – so often in hotels or apartments there is nowhere to get ready which is near a plug so this was well thought out and really handy! I would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Whitby. Thank you for a lovely stay – we would love to come back!

We had an awesome time at Marjies. The flat is in a great location for all the amenities; beach, shops, fish and chips, pubs, restaurants and much more. Alex left a guidebook with suggestions for places to visit, (again these are all in walking distance and we did all these) 199 steps leading to Whitby Abbey and Whitby Brewery, Whitby Museum & Pannett Gardens, Whitby Pavilion (shows) bus tour, pier walk and boat trip. There is so much to do!

On arrival, Marjies was spotlessly clean and well equipped. It felt like home from home especially with all the little touches; fluffy towels, beautiful bedding, comfy bed, fab armchair/sofa, breakfast bar, Netflix and great cooking facilities.

Marjies is an amazing flat in a fantastic location. Alex and Liz are the perfect hosts. I highly recommend a stay here!

Brilliant stay. The flat is located in an ideal location nearby to all major sights. It was really well presented and helped you feel at home right away.

Alex went the extra mile to communicate with us that we could check in early and made sure there was milk and biscuits so we could relax as soon as we arrived rather than dashing to the shops.
